I have a 2014 regular chromebook and a 2014 HD chromebook, and I can say this years is much snappier, BUT battery life is much reduced over the champ 2014 chromebook. As for HD (CB 1 vs CB2) the battery life you would think gets better w/ more efficient processor, but I am actually seeing less SOT (maybe a hour). However since it lasts days between charges, not really that big of a deal. A great addition is the backlit keyboard which helps in low-light situations to balance the light (I touch type), but for the kids who are just learning much better.
