This book is a really useful addition to your college application references. Rather than list only dry statistics, he offers opinions about the colleges regarding the campus, faculty, students, and attitudes, based on surveys. He may show some bias here and there, but it is still useful to get insight about schools which can help us narrow down our choices. Note that not every college in the US is included, so there will be some schools you may be interested in which are not in this book.
I've been using the service on and off for years so I've got a long, though not expert background in their software. The thing I used to hate about them was the interface of their software. Their databases were awesome, but the software left much to be desired. About five years or so ago they redesigned their software suite. At first the improved interface was beset with a lot of teething problems. I stayed away for a few years and finally came back last year and picked up the 2011 version. That was a HUDGE leap forward over what I was used too. Better interface, better web integration, better features.
It is full of useful information and great to identify key places to visit. It is good for doing research before travel and also for carrying around with you. It covers all sorts of different information. Well written and very useful!
traction on a clean court=5/5; step in comfort=3/5 (i expected more out of the full length boost, but it was not uncomfortable, my jordan XX8 had more step in comfort); fit=true to size; support=3.5 (just because i didnt feel snug in the ankles even tho i didn't slide around in the shoe, maybe due to the lacing setup); best feature is the traction. i am reviewing the non-prime knit version. (oh i also got a blister on my ankle after one session from the way the inner bootie is cut). returning my pair due to a manufacturer's defect. the material on the upper is separating from the sole, again only after wearing for one session.
