  • J. St Onge - Well Worth the Money!! VERY Accurate!! Small & Portable!!

Bought 2 of these the other day. Opened them up, put in the battery, and they were ready to go. I bought two of them so I could install them in each of my childrens bedrooms so I could tell the range of the temp and humidity each of thier rooms. First I put these next to my house thermostat which has a current temp and humidity displayed. After 1 hour of being in the same room right next to the thermostat both of the Cheney units read exactly what the temp was, and the humidity on both units were the reading the exact same (7 units higher) then my house thermostat. I don't know if my house unit is accurate or not but at least the two Cheney units read the same for temp & humidity. If they read differently than each other than I would say they weren't accurate but since both read the exact same things I give them two thumbs up and agree this is a great buy, especially since it displays the current temp and humidity and displays the daily low/high for each. Great Product!!!! Small, lightweight, has magnet on back to stick to fridge or can use clip to attach it to belt, or anything it can clip to. It also can be placed on a desk, shelf, etc but standing it on end with the attached stilt.

  • John B. Connell - The perfect PreFab book for right now.

Not just a coffee table book. Sure, Taunton Press reliably publishes the most beautiful house books on this side of the Atlantic but what makes this book special is the content (which admittedly includes abundant mouth-watering photos). Sheri Koones has been writing about factory delivered homes for over a decade and in that time everything has changed (and her books have kept up with those changes). Prefab is no longer about fast and cheap. Now it's about energy efficiency, superior quality, high design, innovation AND affordability. Koones is a master of this subject having studied big houses and small houses from coast to coast in this country as well as the best prefabs from abroad. In this, her eighth title, she delves into how prefabrication is enabling the growing trend in smaller homes. People across the country are now embracing Sarah Susanka's advice to make houses that are "not so big" - but still incredibly well designed. In this book Koones collects the best of the best and shows how prefabrication has made small architecture possible, Each is different but all are successful in their "small" way. The characteristic Taunton diagrams and the glossary of resources alone would be worth the book price. I look forward to using this book with my online students at the Yestermorrow School. Pure inspiration!

  • W. Strohm - Wish I hadn't "upgraded"

There was nothing wrong with Q2013, but as always, when the new version was released, I dutifully upgraded. The new version has performance issues (slow screen paints - looks like the Quicken window is flashing), stability issues (it has crashed on me several times), and the new requirement to create an Intuit account to use the program. Despite several updates since installing it last month, these problems are still here. If Intuit ever gets this program to a stable state, I'll stay there and never upgrade again.

  • Susanne - Very disappointed

Why buy it? It just signs you up for re-occuring payroll expenses--and there are no promises on how high those expenses can go next year. (Sounds like Cable TV, right? Same 'game') I wish I had not bought it.

  • Christoph - works well

Purchased this to sharpen both regular and rip chains. The sharpener works well, and the portability is nice. In addition it can do the compound angles needed for rip chains a major plus. However, the unit gets hot so you will also want to ware gloves while operating.

  • Ordinary Mom - A bit dull

I enjoy campaign books, but this is a bit dull. It seems that it was thrown together and reads more like a collection of magazine articles than a coherent book. Also, just in terms of fun "gossip", there really isn't much of interest.
